Current reading about wildfires

Over the weekend, I decided that it was past time to do some background reading about wildfires. So, I went to my local library and took this book out:

Fire and Ashes by John N. Maclean. I am enjoying it and will report back here on my thoughts about the book in a later post. Used copies may be available through amazon.

John Maclean? That's kind of funny, last night I had to read an excerpt of A River Runs Through It by John's father, Norman Maclean. I'd be curious to compare their writing styles! Maybe I'll check the book out. I'm considering joining the college fire crew, if I can fit it into my schedule.

I ordered Norman Maclean's book, Young Men and Fire, on the Mann Gulch fire from Amazon last night. It is next on my list. So, I will be able to compare the writing styles myself. So, stay tuned and I'll let you know.
