I heard about the Campbell Fire, currently burning in the Ishi Wilderness in the Lassan National Forest, yesterday. Thanks to a friend who gave me a heads up. There is a page on inciweb devoted to the Campbell Fire. According to the latest report on inciweb available to me, the fire has burned 220 acres in rugged terrain and is currently 35% contained. I understand from reading the Campbell Fire thread on Wildlandfire Hotlist that CAL FIRE tankers 80 and 81 out of Hollister were working the fire yesterday along with some helos and air attack Bravo 55. Structures are not threatened. The hope is that the fire will be contained at about 12:00 AM on Sunday, January 5.
I found a short article from KRCR 7 ABC on the fire
As a friend of mine told me a few years, it is always fire season in California. Stay safe everyone.
