Prescribed or controlled burns by the NJ Forest Fire Service continue. According to the New Jersey Forests Facebook Page the following controlled burns were scheduled for March 3 (weather permitting):

MONMOUTH COUNTY
Pleasant Run Wildlife Management Area, Upper Freehold Township
OCEAN COUNTY

The Press of Atlantic City published an article on March 3rd by Dan Skeldon on the importance of controlled burns in NJ (with photos) and a video. You will hear Bill Love, a section warden with the NJ Forest Fire Service explaining the importance of controlled (aka prescribed) burns. Updated on April 25,2016: I am no longer able to embed the video because I could not get the embed code to work as I wanted, I was able to go to the March 3rd article by Dan Skeldon to watch the video.
