2024 New Jersey Wildfire Season: Whip-Poor-Will Wildfire Final Update

The Whip-Poor-Will Wildfire that was reported in the early afternoon of July 16th at the Warren Grove Air-to-Ground Range in Bass River Township in Burlington County NJ has burned 1,167 acres and is at 80 percent containment. Because the wildfire occurred on an active gunnery range that is frequently used for weapons testing there is some speculation, perhaps unfounded that weapons testing may have lead to the wildfire. This is just speculation as the New Jersey Forest Fire has yet to release a cause of this wildfire. Overnight rain helped the wildland firefighters to increase containment of this wildfire.
