2025 New Jersey Wildfire Season: Danny's Fire, Cumberland County

Yesterday evening I first learned of the Danny’s Fire from the NJ Forest Fire Service’s Facebook page. As I understand it, the Danny’s Fire was first reported on April 18th in the early afternoon. As I write this post, the Danny’s fire has burned 1,000 acres in the Peaslee Wildlife Management Area in Vineland, Cumberland County, It is currently at 50 percent containment, There are no evacuations and no structures are threatened. Two roads in the fire area are closed. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service (NJFFS) is on the scene with engines. bull dozers and ground crews. There is a NJFFS helicopter on scene making observations. The Danny's Fire has burned 1,200 acres and is at 75 percent containment. All roads are now open. The NJFFS remains on scene with engines, bull dozers and ground crews. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Direct link to the April 19th 3:27 PM NJFFS post on Facebook
