Some of you know that I am always interested in wildfires that happen in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States because this is my home. I came across the video about the Packerton Fire in Jim Thorpe (Carbon County) Pennsylvania, that I am sharing with you while I was on YouTube this morning. I wanted to know more and found out that this fire started on Saturday and has burning 450 to 600 acres and is about 15 percent contained as I write this. Due to dry condtions it could take up to a week to extinguish the fireAs an aside, I enjoyed seeing helos and air tankers working the fire and I know that they are helping the crews on the ground, For more information see these media reports
