The 181 acre Cannonball 3 Wildfire reached 100 percent containment at 6:30 PM thanks to the good work of the New Jersey Forest Fire wildland firefighters, local fire departments, and the work of helicopter with a 350 gallon bucket. Thanks to all of you for your hard work on containing this fire. No structures were destroyed or damaged and no one was injured.The NJ Forest Fire Service will be monitoring this fire over next several days to and shore up containment lines. At the time the NJ Forest Fire Service made their morning update on the Cannonball 3 Wildfire at about 10:30 AM there has been no significant change in acres burned and containment since the evening of November 9th, see my November 9th post on the Cannonball 3 Wildfire for yesterday's updates. This wildfire has burned 175 acres and remains at 75 percent containment. Fifty-five structures were threatened. All lanes on Interstate 287 have reopened. Cannonball Road at Dupont Place was still closed. Direct link to Facebook post from the NJFFS shown below.
