This is (hopefully) the final update from the NJ Forest Fire Service on the Craigmeur Lookout Fire in Rockaway Township, Morris County. See my November 2nd post on this fire for earlier updates, a video and links to my earlier posts. As of 5:30 PM, the 202 acre fire was at 85 percent containment. The NJ Forest Fire Service will remain at the scene of the fire strengthen containment lines and monitor the fire. There were no injuries and no damage to any houses that were threatened or evacuated. Smoke is expected to remain until there is significant rainfall. Kudos to the New Jersey Forest Fire wildland firefighters and the firefighters from local fire departments in Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Sussex Warren, and Morris Counties who fought the fire.
