The Bogart Fire was first reported on August 30th, ground crews assisted by air resources are working the fire. As I write this, the Bogart Fire has burned about 1,300 acres and is at 45 percent containment, the cause has been determined to be human caused according to CAL Fire, see this Riverside County Fire Department incident page for more information.
Here is a nice video shot by EPN16 of the Emergency Photographers Network, uploaded on August 31st. A video is worth a thousand words, and you will see ground troops, air resources, and fire footage. In addition, you will hear some scanner feed in the background.

I have blogged about aerial wildland firefighting since 2009. I am not a firefighter and am not a pilot, just an interested bystander who wants to learn more and share what I learn here. Join me here as I blog on the aircraft and the pilots who fight wildland fires from the air in support of crews on the ground. I also blog on concerns affecting fire crews on the ground as well as other aviation and meteorology issues. Learn what it takes to do jobs that are staffed by the best of the best.
