2022 NJ wildfire season: brush fire off Point Pleasant (Ocean County) NJ

At 12:30 PM on Wednesday, January 26. 2022 a brush fire was reported on Gull Island, off of Point Pleasant Beach in Ocean County NJ. There did not appear to be anyone on the island, which is an Ocean County Park and Conservation Area. The Coast Guard assisted local firefighters by ferrying them to the scene of the fire as well as transporting equipment to the fire. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Firefighters brought the fire under control by 2:30 PM on the 26th. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service was involved in investigating the fire. I do not know the size of the fire.
