Over the weekend, I checked out WildfireToday where I first learned of the tragic death of 21 year old Benjamin Charles Sapper in a vehicle accident while he was on duty on August 4th near Powers, Oregon, Wildfire Today wrote about the loss of Benjamin in an August 6th post. He was traveling with his fire crew when the accident happened. Benjamin was from Boulder, Colorado and had recently graduated from college this year. He was a first-year wildland firefighter. Antonia Velez of 9News out of Denver, Colorado wrote a nice article on August 6th about Benjamin (with video).
I offer my condolences and prayers for Benjamin's family friends, colleagues and all who loved Benjamin. May he rest in peace.
